Hydroponics Gardening: Secrets Underneath
By Jason Uvios
It is indeed an underground secret. But paradoxically there is no ground at all. Hydroponics has nothing to do with ground or soil. The biggest secret of this type of is that plants grow but without any solid or concrete base. They grow on water or more appropriately nutrient enriched solution but they are not just water plants. Any type of terrestrial plants can be grown through hydroponics staying away far from mud and soil.

From the pages of history

The secret behind hydroponics has a scientific basis but science is also not beyond nature. Actually from ancient times the possibility of plant’s growth or cultivation process could be done in this way. The Hanging Garden of Babylon is the best suitable example to depict the earlier practice of this type of gardening. In modern times a technical and scientific approach has been developed to promote this practice of farming and gardening.

Keeping at par with the trends of modern living, the instant factor in everything has been well kept in the hydroponics where plants can be grown with less effort, quite instantly.

Swift and direct

Imagine plants growing in the space station without a bit of soil. Now you need not imagine because things are actually happening in this way. The sequence maintained in the growth of a plant from sowing the seeds to the reaping of the fruits, a chorological system is maintained. But for hydroponics there is no such hard and fast rule.

method applied in hydroponics is simple and direct. Here one arrangement suffices everything to support the growth of the plants.

You prepare a tank or a reservoir filled with minerals and other required nutrients rich solution and you plant the seedlings in it. As per the conventional plant growth process the soil acts as the decomposing medium of organic matter thereby preparing required food and salts for the plants to grow. The roots derive all of which are required from the soil in an indirect way.

In hydroponics the roots can directly be supplied with nutrients, water and oxygen through the solution. This also supports the roots to grow longer and healthier. Again the process of photosynthesis in the plants can automatically take place with the help of sunlight and other growing lights. If required, plants are covered by a thin film to allow the desired amount of absorbed by them.

So have your very own garden right inside your house without muddy patches. The nature peeps from within. The secret boon of hydroponics, real indeed!
